Making Sure You're Dress Fits Right

How to Measure?
We understand the demands in purchasing a dress without trying in on. If you use our measuring guidelines and size charts and a little common sense, it is very easy to make an informed decision

First of all, the information we provide are just guidelines and not hard fast rules.

Different dress styles and body types may make these guidelines insufficient.

Secondly, we suggest having a professional seamstress/tailor in your area take your measurements.

Since sizing is not an exact science and alterations will most likely be necessary, establishing a relationship with a seamstress will help in your quest for a proper fit.

If this is not possible, please have someone besides yourself take the measurements.

Last but not least, the final decision and responsibility on what size to order is up to you

Designers determine their sizes by the bust, waist, and hip measurements. See the following for measuring tips!

Nipple to nipple - Measure across the bust nipple to nipple

Taking the Bust Measurement - Full Bustinchesinches
Measure around the fullest part of the bust.

Taking the Waist Measurement - tie a piece of ribbon or string around the natural part of your
waist. This would be your torso at the smallest point.  Leave the string in place while you do the rest of your measurements as you will need it for reference with some of the other measurements

Taking the Hip Measurement - Take the measurement around the hips at the fullest point, take note of how far down from the waist that you are measuring.

Length of Shoulder to bust - Measure from the top of your shoulder to the nipple

Front Length Shoulder to Waist -Measuring from the same point on your shoulder, go down over the top
of your nipple to the waist.

Outer Leg  - Measure from the string/ribbon around your waist to the floor.  Please ensure you have a shoe similar in height to those you intend to wear on your wedding day.

Shoulder to Shoulder  - From the edge of the shoulder socket, measure all the way over to the same point on the other shoulder along the back, as shown in the diagram

And How tall the bride without shoes? Very important!

If you are plus size and the dress has sleeves, you should be measure more measurements, as follow:

Shoulder to Shoulder  Only needed for dress with sleeves. This is the width of your shoulder

Arm girth: This measurement gives me the size of the sleeve hole that you are comfortable wearing. This measurement is entirely subjective and you can make it as deep or as tight as you are comfortable with.

Bicep girth: around arm at fullest part of upper arm
Sleeves length you want:
